Mrs. Beaven
about me
I grew up in a small town in northwest Iowa and graduated from Northwestern College with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and endorsements for Early Childhood and Reading. I have been working with students for 19 years! My teaching experiences include Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade. I have also worked on the Professional Development team as an induction coach/mentor for novice teachers in the St. Vrain Valley School District.
Second Grade was my absolute favorite grade when I was in elementary school, and I LOVE teaching second grade just as much, maybe even more! It's a wonderful year filled with the time and opportunity to grow deeper in love with books and reading, blossom as a writer, broaden math skills, and explore exciting history and science topics. This will be my tenth year at Bethke and I am SUPER excited to be part of this amazing school family! My favorite part of teaching at Bethke is building relationships with my 2nd Graders and their families. Teaching is my passion... I consider it a true blessing to spend each day helping my students develop a life-long love for learning and building character that will carry them throughout life!
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, playing boardgames, boating/camping and other outdoor activities! My husband and I have two children - Noah and Hannah, and one sweet, "furry" kid...Spencer (the dog)!
