Mrs. Berg
about me
I feel very fortunate to get to spend my life teaching and guiding children as they think, explore, and wonder. I have always wanted to be a teacher and can not see myself doing anything else! I love going to work everyday and coming home smiling and laughing after being with my students all day. I am a lifelong learner and aspire to instill the passion for life long learning in all of my students.
I am thrilled to be starting my 10th year at Bethke and am excited to continue teaching 2nd grade where I began my teaching career 16 years ago! I have also taught Kindergarten for 7 years (4 at Bethke!) and spent a year teaching 1st grade when I lived in Chicago. In addition to teaching, I was part of the team at Pearson Education in Chicago that was responsible for writing and editing Kindergarten Reading manuals and selecting literature for their basal program.
I am proud to be at Bethke and be part of such an amazing school where we truly "Honor All Learners." I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a Broadcast News minor from CU Boulder, and a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from CU Denver with an emphasis in Child Growth and Development.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach your child and make an impact in their life. I promise to always give my very best, as I recognize the awesome responsibility you are entrusting me with as their teacher. I am excited to help your child develop their interests, ask questions, and love learning!
When I am not teaching, I love reading, Orange Theory, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends, who are incredibly important to me. I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband Michael, who keeps me smiling and always trying something new. We have two AMAZING children--our son Brooks is almost 3 and we just welcomed our beautiful baby daughter, Ivy, in June. I LOVE being a mom so much! Our two crazy dogs named Wrigley and Winston also keep me constantly entertained! I enjoy being outside and am so happy to live in Colorado!
